Kennels is a family
business with Dad (Lee) and his two daughters (Becky and Deb)
heading up the operation.
The French Brittany is the original Brittany
spaniel, a close working dog ideal for the foot hunter. The
French Brittany has a keen nose and uncanny bird sense. French
Brittanys are fleet of foot and highly intelligent. They are
truly a versatile dog combining dedication to the family and loyalty
in the field. Hunrunr
French Brittanys are gentle companions in the home and all
business in the field.
The description of the ideal French Brittany is
"cob", which denotes a stocky animal that is unequaled in
sensory instincts. Along with the short body, the French
Brittany ideally has long legs and a short muzzle.
We at Hunrunr
Kennels know and understand
pedigrees. With nearly 50 years of studying and analyzing the
ancestry of animals, our breeding doesn't happen by chance.
Only after careful study of the lineage and characteristics of an
individual dog will it be added to our breeding program. From this
practice comes consistency in conformation, disposition, and
ability.
Just because a dog is imported
doesn't mean it is of sound genetic quality for breeding.
Pedigrees need to be researched, histories analyzed, and individual
dogs observed before making the decision to add a dog to a breeding
program.
In the 1950's Lee raised Kansas state
grand champion dairy cattle. Year after year his animals were
highly prized due to their uniformity and consistency. Those
same principles of crossing genetics are being used today to produce
the Hunrunr
line of French Brittanys.
